Mary was born and raised in Illinois. Mary moved with her husband, Gary, and three children; Samantha, Stephen, and Sean, to PA over twenty years ago. Mary became a grandmother in 2012. Cooper is 3 ½ years old and is growing too quickly. Mary has a B.S. in Elementary Education and a M.S. in Gifted Education from Millersville University. Mary’s Montessori training is from Princeton Center for Teacher Education in Princeton, NJ. Mary has 6-9 and 9-12 training. Mary is involved with the PA Science Teachers Association and the National Science Teachers Association. I have served on the Early Childhood/Elementary Committee for NSTA and on the Special Needs Committee for NSTA. In 2002, Mary was chosen to be a Brandwein Fellow and a Muriel Green Award winner. Mary is very interested in environmental education. Three years ago, Mary participated in the American Wilderness Leadership School in Jackson, WY. This past summer, Mary participated in several workshops at Middle Creek. Mary is also a PA Master Naturalist volunteer, having graduated in the fall of 2014. One of Mary’s projects is maintaining the Bluebird Trail at school and sharing it with the students. Mary is beginning her seventh year at Montessori Academy. This is her seventeenth year of teaching.
