I began my career as an educator in 1990, majoring in Elementary Education at Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts. I spent a couple years in the classroom after graduation, but, unfortunately, the economy at the time didn’t set favorable conditions for aspiring educators. I then moved into the corporate world, where I spent twelve years in Human Resources. I spent a considerable amount of that time doing corporate training and employee talent development, and earned a graduate certificate in that area from Bentley University. In 2010, my husband and I relocated to Lancaster County for his work, and I began volunteering in our son John’s Elementary classroom here at Montessori Academy of Lancaster. I was hooked. I started substituting last year, and found it wonderfully satisfying to return to my primary passion.
With the exception of missing the ocean and a Red Sox game at Fenway Park, I couldn’t be happier here at Montessori Academy of Lancaster as an Assistant Teacher and working with the wonderful friends in our classroom each day. I look forward to getting to know each of the families represented in our class and throughout the school.
